Line of Cards Makes Light of Adultery Put this one in your "You've got to be kidding" file. Cathy Gallagher, after working in advertising and marketing for 20 years, has launched a new line of greeting cards aimed at expressing the heartfelt feelings of adulterers, reported the Los Angeles Times. Jihad is Knocking The slaughter in London is another grisly wake-up call that likely will go as unheeded as earlier ones. Already the standard narrative is being trotted out: evildoers created by what the New York Times predictably called the "root causes of terrorism": autocracy, or economic stagnation, or Palestinian suffering, or globalization's dislocations, or Western historical sins, or the war in Iraq (the cause will depend on the political prejudices of the pundit) have "hijacked" Islam and distorted its…

What is a church? (8)

I had taken a hiatus from this series for some period of time as other issues were pressing. Also, as this had become an exhaustive survey it was then clear that soon it would require additional work. So now being some better prepared, well look briefly at the concluding remarks…

Making Choices

We get only a few choices in this life that make any difference. The list of in what and where that we did not or do not have anything to say or any choice in matters is much, much longer. We didn't get to pick our parents. That was beyond our ability to affect. We didn't get to choose how or where that we were raised. We didn't get to choose the color of our skin, or of our eyes…

An unnoticed incident of Koran destruction? On the very day the braying mob in Pakistan demonstrated over the false Koran report in Newsweek, a suicide bomber blew up an Islamic shrine in Islamabad , destroying not just innocent men, women and children, but undoubtedly many Korans as well. Not a word of condemnation. No demonstrations. --Charles Krauthammer, from his column "Gitmo Grovel: Enough Already," in The Washington Post, 06.03.05 Gods Word changed (yet again) This long-awaited revised text of the…

And they said "Some say that you are John the Baptist, some Elias, and others Jeremiah, or one of the prophets. And he said, "But who do you say that I am? Redemption in Christ (1)

"In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace, which he made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence." (Ephesians 1: 7-8) To sin means to miss the mark. As the target is set and placed by God then to sin means to violate Gods Law; and that can be either through omission or by commission of acts that are in violation of that law. The apostle John…
